4 Steps to Find the Right CM Punjab Farmer Scheme

Green Tractor and Farm Mechanization Loan at the District Agriculture Office; Solar Tubewell at Irrigation/Agriculture Office; Livestock Card at the District Livestock Office — all require a recent PLRA Fard.

Step 1

Tractor and Mechanization Support

Green Tractor Programme: 30–50% subsidy on agricultural tractor purchase through a computerised ballot. For farmers owning 2.5–50 acres with no existing tractor. Applications through district agriculture offices with PLRA Fard (land record) required. Check agripunjab.gov.pk for active phases.

Farm Mechanization Loan: Low-interest credit (2–5% annually) through ZTBL for purchasing any agricultural machinery — laser land levellers, combine harvesters, rice transplanters, threshers. Loan amount up to Rs. 5,000,000 based on farm size and collateral. Apply at the nearest ZTBL branch with your Fard and farm production records.

Step 2

Irrigation and Energy Support

Solar Tubewell Scheme: Subsidised solar power system for existing agricultural tube-wells and bore-wells — replaces diesel or LESCO electricity costs with free solar energy. For farmers with 2–25 acres and an existing pump. Apply through District Agriculture or Irrigation offices with Fard and pump specification details.

Green Credit Programme: Low-interest financing for solar systems including agricultural applications — for larger solar installations beyond the Tubewell scheme's scope. Available through partner banks. Check greenfinance.punjab.gov.pk for current solar agriculture products.

Step 3

Livestock and Specialty Crop Support

Livestock Card Scheme: Free or heavily subsidised veterinary services for small livestock farmers — vaccinations, deworming, artificial insemination, and disease treatment for cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goats. Register at the District Livestock Office. Card used at government Livestock Services Centres.

Ginger Cultivation Subsidy: Subsidised ginger seed and cultivation inputs for farmers in targeted Punjab districts. Requires land suitability assessment and attendance at a cultivation training workshop. Contact the District Agriculture Extension Office for availability in your area.

Step 4

How to Access Farmer Schemes Quickly

The two most accessible entry points for Punjab farmer schemes:

District Agriculture Office: Your one-stop for Green Tractor, Farm Mechanization Loan applications, Ginger Subsidy, and Solar Tubewell. Visit with your CNIC and recent PLRA Fard — the agriculture officer can tell you which schemes are currently accepting applications for your district and guide you through the right application.

ZTBL Branch: For financing-based schemes (Farm Mechanization Loan, Green Credit for agriculture), the nearest ZTBL branch is the starting point. ZTBL has presence in most tehsil towns across Punjab and handles agricultural credit specifically.

Keep your PLRA Fard updated — it's required for virtually every Punjab farmer scheme. An outdated Fard or one showing incorrect ownership delays applications significantly. Visit the nearest PLRA service centre or check online at plra.punjab.gov.pk to confirm your records are current.

Application and Eligibility Problems

I applied for Green Tractor and didn't win the ballot — what next?

Ballot-based schemes are competitive. You can reapply in the next phase — previous unsuccessful applicants aren't given priority but can try again. Use the time to ensure your PLRA Fard is fully updated and land records are clean.

ZTBL rejected my Farm Mechanization Loan due to collateral

ZTBL uses agricultural land as collateral. The land value must cover the loan amount. For small landholdings, apply for a smaller loan proportionate to your collateral, or explore the Green Credit Programme which has different collateral requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — they're separate programmes. Green Tractor is a capital subsidy on tractor purchase; Farm Mechanization Loan is credit for other machinery. You can use the Green Tractor subsidy for a tractor and apply for a Farm Mechanization Loan separately for a thresher or leveller.

The Fard is the official land record document from the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) confirming land ownership, size, and location. It's the primary proof that you own agricultural land — required for almost every Punjab farmer scheme to prevent fraud and ensure benefits reach actual landowners.

Tenant farmers (who cultivate but don't own land) are eligible for the Livestock Card Scheme and some phases of the Ginger Subsidy. The tractor, solar tubewell, and mechanization loan schemes typically require land ownership verified through Fard.
