SNGPL's online bill portal at sngpl.com.pk lets consumers across Punjab, KP, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan check their current gas bill, due date, and consumption using their 10-digit consumer number.
Locate Your SNGPL Consumer Number
Your SNGPL consumer number is the key identifier for your gas account —
it's printed on every SNGPL paper bill in the upper section, labeled
"Consumer No." or "Account No."
It's typically an 8–12 digit number, sometimes preceded by a letter code
indicating your region (e.g., LHR-1234567 for Lahore or
MUL-9876543 for Multan).
SNGPL — Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited — distributes gas across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. If your gas bill header says SNGPL, this guide is for you. Karachi and Sindh consumers are served by SSGC — see the separate SSGC guide instead.
No bill to hand? Call SNGPL's helpline at 1199 with your complete address and they can look up your consumer number. New residents who've never received an SNGPL bill may need to visit the nearest SNGPL service centre with their CNIC and tenancy/ownership documents to get their consumer number confirmed.
Open the SNGPL Online Bill Portal
Go to sngpl.com.pk and look for "Online Bill" or "My Bill" in the navigation menu. SNGPL's bill inquiry system is accessible without registration — you need only the consumer number.
SNGPL's portal loads reasonably quickly on mobile connections. If you're checking from a rural area of Punjab where broadband is limited, the mobile version works on 3G as well. On the off chance the portal is undergoing maintenance (typically late at night), JazzCash and Easypaisa both support SNGPL bill inquiry under their Bill Payments → Gas section.
Enter Your Consumer Number and Review the Bill
Type your SNGPL consumer number into the field — include any letter prefix if your number has one. Click Submit or Check Bill. Your current gas bill loads within a few seconds, showing:
- Consumer name and address
- Billing month and meter reading dates
- Previous and current meter readings (in cubic metres)
- Gas consumed (the difference, in cubic metres)
- Tariff category (domestic, commercial, industrial)
- Slab-based gas charges
- Government levies (GST, Petroleum Development Levy)
- Amount payable and due date
Check the consumer name and address first — if it shows a previous occupant's name, the bill is still valid for payment but you should visit SNGPL to transfer the account to your name. You remain responsible for gas consumed from your occupancy date regardless of whose name the account is in.
| Bill Section | What It Shows | Where on Bill |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer number | 10-digit SNGPL account ID | Top-left of paper bill |
| Previous meter reading | Last month's reading (cubic feet/metres) | Meter reading section |
| Current meter reading | This month's reading | Meter reading section |
| Units consumed | Difference — current minus previous | Calculated row |
| Gas charges | Units × applicable slab rate | Charges breakdown |
| Fixed monthly charges | Connection fee regardless of usage | Charges breakdown |
| GST | 10% sales tax on gas charges | Tax section |
| Amount payable | Total due — pay this amount | Bottom of bill |
Save the Bill and Pay Before the Due Date
Use your browser's Print → Save as PDF to download a copy. Name it clearly with your consumer number and billing month for easy retrieval later.
SNGPL due dates are typically 15–20 days after the bill date. Gas disconnection for non-payment happens faster than electricity — SNGPL can disconnect within 5–7 days after the due date in urban areas. Winter months (November–March) see more aggressive disconnection enforcement because gas demand is high and SNGPL prioritises reliable supply to paying customers.
For payment: JazzCash, Easypaisa, all major bank apps, and bank branch counters all accept SNGPL bills. Enter your consumer number (not reference number from electricity) when prompted for SNGPL payment.
When Things Go Wrong
Double-check the consumer number format — include the letter prefix if one appears on your bill. If the number is definitely correct and still not found, call 1199 to confirm your account status. New connections may take one billing cycle to appear in the online system.
Check whether your meter reading was estimated last month (marked 'E') — a large correction bill follows when the actual reading is taken. Also check whether a gas tariff revision has taken effect — OGRA periodically revises gas tariffs. Call 1199 if neither explains the increase.
Try JazzCash or Easypaisa as an immediate alternative: go to Bill Payments → Gas → SNGPL and enter your consumer number. Both apps pull from SNGPL's live database and give you the current amount due.
Bank and app payments can take 24–72 hours to post on SNGPL's system. Keep your payment receipt. If unpaid status persists beyond 72 hours, call 1199 with the payment reference number.
Frequently Asked Questions
SNGPL — Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited — distributes natural gas across Punjab (including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar and other KP cities), Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Sindh and Balochistan are served by SSGC.
Gas bills measure consumption in cubic metres (m³) rather than kilowatt-hours. SNGPL uses a slab tariff similar to electricity — domestic consumers get cheaper rates up to a certain monthly consumption threshold, with higher rates above. The bill structure is similar but the unit and rate categories differ.
SNGPL helpline: 1199 (toll-free, available 24/7 for gas leaks and emergencies). For billing queries, call during business hours (9 AM–5 PM on working days). For gas leak emergencies, 1199 is available around the clock.
Yes — all major Pakistani bank apps list SNGPL under Bill Payments → Gas. Enter your consumer number when prompted. JazzCash and Easypaisa also support SNGPL payment.
SNGPL charges a late payment surcharge (currently around 2% per month on the overdue amount). Persistent non-payment leads to disconnection, after which a reconnection fee applies in addition to settling the outstanding bill.
