This page is a reference index of every CM Punjab scheme available to students — covering laptops, scholarships, e-bikes, internships, and health cards, with a direct link to the application guide for each.
Laptop Scheme and Honhaar Scholarship
Two flagship programmes for high-performing students in Punjab:
CM Punjab Laptop Scheme: Free laptop for students at public sector universities with minimum CGPA 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (postgraduate). Applications open through phec.punjab.gov.pk during announced phases. Check the eligibility guide and merit list checker for details.
Honhaar Scholarship: Monthly stipend of Rs. 2,000–8,000 for students with 70%+ Matric/Intermediate marks from households below the poverty threshold. Both public and private institution students are eligible. Apply at honhaarscholarship.com during active intake windows. See the Honhaar eligibility guide for the full income and academic criteria.
CM Punjab Internship and E-Bike Scheme
CM Punjab Internship Programme: Paid 3–6 month placements in Punjab government departments for fresh graduates and final-year students. Stipend Rs. 20,000–35,000/month. Apply at internship.punjab.gov.pk during the January or July intake rounds. Completion certificate is a valued credential for government job applications.
E-Bike Scheme: Subsidised electric motorcycle (50% below market price) for students aged 18–35 domiciled in Punjab. The e-bike reduces daily commute costs significantly — saves Rs. 3,000–6,000/month in fuel versus a conventional motorcycle. Apply at ebike.punjab.gov.pk. Some phases have a dedicated female student category.
Zewar-e-Taleem and Other Education Benefits
Zewar-e-Taleem: Not for the student directly, but for parents of school-going girls — a monthly stipend deposited on a card, provided daughters maintain attendance. If you've younger sisters in school, your family may qualify. Check at 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF): A separate scholarship programme for top-performing matriculation and intermediate students from Punjab. Awards Rs. 50,000–100,000 annual scholarships based on board exam merit. Apply at peef.org.pk — this is distinct from but complementary to the Honhaar Scholarship.
PM's Youth Laptop Scheme: A federal-level scheme separate from CM Punjab's — check nl.hec.gov.pk for the national laptop scheme which covers HEC-recognised institutions nationwide regardless of province.
How to Check All Active Student Schemes at Once
The fastest way to check your eligibility across multiple schemes:
Step 1: Check your BISP status at 8171.bisp.gov.pk — BISP-registered students get priority access to income-based schemes like Honhaar.
Step 2: Check the PHEC portal at phec.punjab.gov.pk for current open applications for the Laptop Scheme and internship programme.
Step 3: Check honhaarscholarship.com for active Honhaar intake windows — applications are time-limited, so act when the window opens.
Step 4: Follow PITB's official social media accounts — they announce new intake rounds for all PITB-administered student schemes as soon as registration opens.
Application and Eligibility Problems
Yes — the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme and Honhaar Scholarship are separate programmes with separate eligibility criteria. Receiving a laptop doesn't affect Honhaar eligibility or vice versa. Apply for both if you meet each programme's criteria.
Only PHEC-registered public institutions appear in the Laptop Scheme list. Private universities are generally excluded. Confirm with your institution's administration whether they've registered with PHEC for the current scheme phase.
Frequently Asked Questions
For financially disadvantaged high-performing students, Honhaar Scholarship offers the highest recurring value — monthly stipends over several years add up to Rs. 200,000–400,000 over a 4-year degree. The Laptop Scheme provides a one-time Rs. 50,000–80,000 value asset. If you qualify for both, apply for both.
Most CM Punjab Internship phases accept graduates within 2 years of degree completion. Check the current intake announcement for the exact cutoff — some phases extend to 3 years for postgraduate degree holders.
No — female students are eligible. Some phases have reserved quotas specifically for female students. A female student can apply under the general category or the female-specific quota if available in the current phase.
