GEPCO's online bill portal lets consumers across Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, and Hafizabad check their current electricity bill by entering the reference number from the top-right of their paper bill.
Find Your GEPCO Reference Number
GEPCO reference numbers are 14 digits. Gujranwala city numbers typically begin with 31; Sialkot district starts with 32; Gujrat with 33. The number is printed at the top of your bill under the heading "Reference No." or "Ref #".
GEPCO serves a territory that includes some of Pakistan's most economically active districts — Gujranwala, Sialkot (known for its sports goods and surgical instruments exports), and Gujrat. If you've both a residential and commercial connection on the same property, each has a separate reference number and separate bill.
New resident without any previous bill? The easiest way to get your reference number is to call GEPCO at 055-111-000-118 with your complete house address. Alternatively, ask your neighbours — the reference number is property-specific, so the previous occupant would have had the same one.
Open the GEPCO Bill Portal
Go to gepco.com.pk and click "Bill Inquiry" from the navigation. GEPCO's portal has a clean interface that loads quickly. You'll land directly on the reference number entry form.
If gepco.com.pk takes longer than usual to load, check whether the issue is your internet connection or the site itself by trying another website. GEPCO's portal does go down for maintenance occasionally — the JazzCash bill payment section works independently and remains available even when GEPCO's own portal is down.
Enter Reference Number and Analyse Your Bill
Type your 14-digit GEPCO reference number and press Submit. Your current bill displays with a detailed charge breakdown. Pay particular attention to the Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) line — this monthly variable charge can swing your bill by Rs. 200–800 depending on NEPRA's monthly determination, even when your actual consumption stays the same.
GEPCO's billing period typically runs from the 20th to 20th of the month, so if you're checking in early June you're seeing the May 20 – June 20 bill. This offset from the calendar month catches many consumers off guard when comparing bills across months.
Download and Pay Your GEPCO Bill
Download the PDF using your browser's print/save function. For Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Gujrat consumers, JazzCash and Easypaisa have very strong agent networks — cash payments at nearby agents are a common alternative to bank branch visits. The JazzCash payment guide shows the exact steps.
If you're paying online through a bank app, search for "GEPCO" under Bill Payments → Electricity. All major Pakistani banks including HBL, MCB, UBL, Meezan Bank, and Bank Alfalah list GEPCO in their bill payment sections.
When Things Go Wrong
Check whether the last reading was estimated (marked 'E'). When GEPCO takes an actual reading after several estimated months, the gap appears as a large one-time bill. If units are excessive even for an actual reading, call 055-111-000-118 to request a meter inspection.
GEPCO updates its website periodically. The current URL is gepco.com.pk — clear your browser's cached version if an old URL redirects strangely. JazzCash always works as a backup regardless of GEPCO's website status.
Try right-clicking the print/download button and selecting 'Save Link As' to download the file directly. Open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader or any PDF viewer app. Chrome's built-in PDF viewer handles GEPCO bills reliably on most devices.
Bank branch counter payments take 48–72 hours to post in GEPCO's system. Online bank transfers post within 24 hours. If it's been over 72 hours, call 055-111-000-118 with your bank transaction reference.
