BISP Kafalat payments are made quarterly in four instalments per year — beneficiaries can check their payment status and pending collection amount using their CNIC on 8171.bisp.gov.pk or by sending their CNIC to 8171 via SMS.

4 Steps to Check and Collect Your BISP Payment

Enter your CNIC at 8171.bisp.gov.pk or send it to 8171 by SMS to see payment status and amount, then collect at any JazzCash or Easypaisa agent with your CNIC — no mobile account needed.

Step 1

Check Payment Status via 8171 Web Portal

The quickest way to check your BISP payment status is through the official portal at 8171.bisp.gov.pk. Enter the registered head of household's 13-digit CNIC (no dashes) and submit. The result page shows:

  • Last payment amount — the quarterly Kafalat amount disbursed
  • Payment date — when the payment was released by BISP
  • Collection status — whether the payment has been collected or is still pending
  • Payment channel — JazzCash or Easypaisa, which determines where to collect

If status shows "Uncollected" and the payment date was within the last 90 days, your money is waiting — go to Step 3 to collect it now.

Step 2

Check Payment via SMS to 8171

Send your 13-digit CNIC number as an SMS to 8171 from any mobile phone. The reply SMS arrives within 30–60 seconds and shows your eligibility status and most recent payment details in plain text.

This is the most accessible method — it works on any phone including basic feature phones, requires no internet, and costs a standard SMS rate. It's particularly useful in areas where mobile data is unavailable or slow.

The SMS reply format looks like: "Eligible. Last payment: Rs. 9,000. Date: 15-Mar-2026. Status: Uncollected. Collect via JazzCash." The exact wording varies but always includes the key payment details.

Step 3

Collect Your BISP Payment

BISP Kafalat payments are disbursed through two channels:

JazzCash: If your payment channel is JazzCash, you can collect at any Jazz franchise or JazzCash agent with your CNIC. Tell the agent "BISP payment collection" and provide your CNIC. The agent verifies via the JazzCash system and pays you the amount. You don't need a JazzCash mobile wallet account — biometric verification (thumbprint on an agent's device in some areas) or CNIC is sufficient.

Easypaisa: Similar process at any Easypaisa agent or Telenor franchise. Present your CNIC and say you're collecting a BISP payment. The agent processes it through the Easypaisa system.

In rural areas, BISP also organises periodic payment camps where beneficiaries can collect in person from a designated venue — these are announced through Union Council and LHW (Lady Health Worker) networks.

Step 4

Resolve Missing or Incorrect Payments

If your portal status shows payment released but you haven't received anything, or if the amount seems incorrect:

Call 0800-26477: Give them your CNIC and the payment date in question. The helpline can confirm the payment status and advise whether a duplicate payment can be issued or a reversal is pending.

Visit the BISP district office: For payment amount discrepancies (receiving less than the announced Kafalat amount), visit in person with your CNIC and the payment collection receipt from the agent. The district office can investigate agent-level discrepancies.

Never pay anyone to "help" you collect your BISP payment — BISP payments are free to receive and no intermediary should charge a fee. Report anyone demanding money to the BISP helpline or BISP's anti-corruption cell.

Common NADRA Application Problems

Portal shows payment released 3 months ago but I never collected

Uncollected payments eventually expire. Contact BISP helpline at 0800-26477 to check whether the payment is still claimable or has been reversed. Expired uncollected payments may require a complaint for re-issuance.

Agent says my CNIC is not showing a pending payment

Check the portal directly at 8171.bisp.gov.pk to confirm your payment status before visiting an agent again. If the portal shows uncollected but the agent can't process it, contact BISP helpline — there may be a system sync delay.

Payment amount received was less than announced Kafalat rate

The Kafalat quarterly payment amounts are set by BISP and should match announced rates. If you received less, check whether the agent deducted an unauthorized 'fee.' Report to BISP helpline 0800-26477 immediately with the agent's location.

Frequently Asked Questions

BISP Kafalat payments are revised periodically. As of 2026, the quarterly payment is Rs. 9,000–10,500 per household (Rs. 36,000–42,000 annually), but this changes with government budget decisions. Check the official bisp.gov.pk or 8171.bisp.gov.pk for the current announced payment amount.

Payment channel assignments are made by BISP based on your area's designated payment partner. Individual switching isn't always possible. Contact BISP at 0800-26477 to check whether a channel transfer is available for your area.

Payments linked to a deceased beneficiary should be reported to BISP. The household may be able to re-register under a surviving female family member. Contact BISP district office with the death certificate and remaining family members' CNICs.

In principle, BISP payments are linked to the registered beneficiary's CNIC and biometric data. However, for elderly or disabled beneficiaries, proxy collection with authorization documentation is sometimes possible — contact your BISP district office for the approved proxy collection process.
